Totally agree with the overall message, we no longer need 'religious authorities'. But re the point on the Dalai Lama: the Dalai Lama uses a translator. English is not his spoken language. ‘Che Le Sa'” or "Eat my Tongue" in English is commonly used in Tibetan culture by older people to young children. So not the best example to lead the article with, as I do think there was a huge cultural and linguistic misunderstanding to be fair to him. But otherwise agree with everything else you've said.
